The Pike Central Middle school girls took home first place after beating Loogootee 15 to 45. They each had a great race on Thursday night. Each runner had a Personal Record and worked extremely hard. The boys and girls races were run together, and I believe that also pushed our girls. Our first six girls took places one through six, those runners and their times were: Indy Hill in first place with a time of 11:57, Sadie Franklin in second with a time of 11:58, Kaebri Yon in third with a time of 12:46, Elliot Heeman placed fourth with a time of 12:47, Eastyn Knight placed 5th with a time of 12:57, and in sixth place Khloe Nixon with a time of 13:26. These last 4 girls have packed together every meet and ran the race as a competition within themselves every meet and practice and it is not only helping them but allowing their times to improve tremendously. Abigail Popp took 11th place for the team running a 15:36, taking four minutes off her time. Next up was Emersyn Staake placing 12th with a time of 15:37, taking on a new season best. Mia Query came in next with 13th place with a time of 15:58, racing up the hill with a great big kick to finish the race. These girls have a goal each meet and they have met their goal every meet so far, and as we go through this season I believe they will continue to reach those goals as they continue to set their minds to it. The Pike Central Middle School boys, and Washington Middle School boys also don’t have enough for a team, leaving Loogootee Middle School boys to win the meet. Pike Central’s boys did really well, both boys had a personal record, Aiken Whitehead placing sixth overall with a time of 12:40, and Jase Cowan placed twelfth overall with a time of 14:23. The boys did a great job keeping their eyes ahead and working on their form.
