PCMS girls XC takes home third place at Gibson Southern Against 16 teams! At the start of the race each runner looked ready to go and focused, they had goals and were ready to make them happen and that is just what they did. Indy placed fifth with a time of 11:48, and Sadie placed eighth with a time of 11:57. Both girls had great races, pushed themselves, and are fun to watch compete with each other meet after meet. They both had another personal record set. Next up we had Kaebri Yon (12:55) placing in the top 30, working hard to stay out in front of the pack. Elliot Heeman (13:02), and Khloe Nixon (13:19 a new PR), did a great job keeping Kaebri in their sight and working hard to keep our pack together. Abi Popp and Mia Query also did amazing both helping us score and keep us where we need to be to get us ready for the post season. These girls worked hard and made sure they left it all on the course. We had two 5th grade runners in the reserve race also known as the Junior Varsity race and they did phenomenal also. Eastyn Knight won that race with a time of 12:57 keeping her PR the same. We told her at the beginning of the race to catch the gator and that she tried. Emmy Staake also ran this race and placed 14th with a new personal record of 15:05, and a smile on her face. These two girls worked hard and were very coachable through the race. Our two boys did a great job today, Aiken Whitehead placed 74th out of 131 runners with a time of 12:49. He looked really strong the whole race and kept his eye on the runners ahead of him keeping his focus on picking off the runners. Jase Cowan ran a time of 14:51, finishing strong and passing a couple runners at the end. These boys are working hard and keeping their eyes on the runners ahead of them, and being coachable. When we give them strategy they do it and handle it well.
