Last night Pike Central Middle School Cross Country held a quad meet with South Spencer, South Ridge, North Daviess and ourselves. SouthRidge placed 3rd with 56 points, Pike Central placed second with 38 points and South Spencer won the meet with 26 points. Our PC girls had six in the top 20, and three in the top five. We had five girls with lifetime personal records (LPR). We are amazed daily at how well they are being coachable and taking our advice to accomplish their goals. Each girl had a goal before the race and I believe all of them hit their goal or did better than they thought. Last night’s meet was a hot one, but the girls did not let that stop them from doing their best and leaving it all out on the course. Our girls times and places are as followed: Indy Hill placed 2nd with a LPR of 11:57, Sadie Franklin placed 3rd with a LPR of 11:57.33, Eastyn Knight placed 7th with a LPR of 12:41, Kaebri Yon placed 13th with a time of 13:07, Khloe Nixon placed 14th with a LPR of 13:11, Elliot Heeman placed 20th with a time of 13:37, Emersyn Staake placed 30th with a LPR of 14:56, and Abigail Popp placed 40th with a time of 16:13. These girls did an amazing job and we are excited to see where they end up for PAC. The boys' meet went really well too. North Davies placed second and South Ridge won the meet with 15 points. Our two boys did a great job last night as well. Both boys ended up running lifetime PR’s. These boys come out every meet, look at the competition, get nervous because it's the two of them against full teams and then they tell us their goals for the race and crush them. These boys have taken on this year and made it fun not only for themselves but for us as coaches too. Our boys’ places and times are as followed: Aiken Whitehead placed 6th with a LPR of 12:09, and Jase Cowan placed 16th with a LPR of 14:10. These boys are doing a great job and continue to keep their heads up.
